Terms of Service

Welcome to OddJobzz! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the OddJobzz platform, including our website and mobile applications (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using OddJobzz, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. About OddJobzz

OddJobzz is a marketplace platform that connects customers ("Customers") with independent service providers ("Taskers"). OddJobzz does not provide services and does not employ, supervise, or control Taskers. Taskers act as independent contractors who determine how, when, and where to perform work. Where permitted by law, OddJobzz acts solely as a limited payment collection agent for Taskers to accept and process payments from Customers.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, posting tasks, or offering services on OddJobzz, you agree to:

• Comply with these Terms and all applicable laws
• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account
• Be responsible for all activity under your account

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use OddJobzz, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide valid identification when required
• Maintain accurate account information
• Not impersonate others or create false accounts

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Services

4.1 For Customers

As a Customer, you may:

• Post tasks describing work you need completed
• Review offers from Taskers
• Hire Taskers to complete your tasks
• Pay securely through our platform
• Leave reviews for completed work

4.2 For Taskers

As a Tasker, you may:

• Browse available tasks in your area
• Submit offers to complete tasks
• Communicate with Customers
• Complete tasks and receive payment
• Build your reputation through reviews

5. Payments and Fees

5.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. By transacting on the platform, you agree to Stripe's terms.

5.2 Service Fees (Platform)

Customers may see a service fee at checkout. Taskers agree that OddJobzz may deduct a platform fee from their payout. Unless otherwise stated in-app, the current platform fee is 10% of the task amount, capped at CAD $10 per task.

5.3 Stripe Processing Fees

Stripe processing fees apply to each transaction. These fees are deducted from the Tasker payout.

5.4 Taxes

Customers are responsible for applicable taxes (e.g., GST/HST/PST) displayed at checkout. OddJobzz may collect and remit certain taxes where required. Taskers are solely responsible for assessing, reporting, and remitting any taxes applicable to their earnings unless OddJobzz or Stripe collects and remits on their behalf as required by law.

5.5 Timing of Payments

Customers are charged when a task is marked complete (or as otherwise shown in-app). Payouts to Taskers are initiated after completion and may be subject to holds, dispute periods, and Stripe's payout schedule.

5.6 Authorization

You authorize OddJobzz and Stripe to charge your payment method and to credit or debit your account to correct errors, process refunds, or resolve disputes, consistent with these Terms and the Refund Policy.

6. Cancellations and Refunds

6.1 Customer Cancellations

• Tasks can be canceled before a Tasker is hired with no fee
• After hiring, cancellation fees may apply depending on timing
• Cancellations with valid reasons (e.g., Tasker no-show) may be refunded

6.2 Tasker Cancellations

• Taskers may withdraw offers before acceptance with no penalty
• After acceptance, Taskers must provide valid reasons for cancellation
• Repeated cancellations may result in account restrictions

6.3 Refund Policy

Refunds are subject to our Refund Policy. Key points:

• Refund requests must be submitted within 48 hours of task completion
• Platform fees (10% capped at CAD $10) and payment processing fees are not refundable
• The Tasker portion may be refunded partially or fully by mutual agreement or after OddJobzz review
• Evidence is required (photos, chat messages, description of the issue)
• Refunds are returned to the original payment method and may take up to 30 days

7. User Conduct

7.1 Prohibited Activities

You may not:

• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent content
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Use the platform for illegal activities
• Attempt to bypass our payment system
• Create multiple accounts to manipulate the system
• Spam or solicit users for other services
• Violate any applicable local, provincial, or federal laws

7.2 Content Standards

All content you post must:

• Be accurate and truthful
• Not violate others' rights
• Not contain offensive or inappropriate material
• Comply with applicable laws

8. Safety and Insurance

OddJobzz does not provide or arrange insurance for tasks or for Taskers. Users are responsible for ensuring appropriate insurance coverage for the services they perform or receive. OddJobzz does not control how services are performed and is not responsible for damages or injuries arising from tasks.

9. Intellectual Property

The OddJobzz platform, including its design, features, and content, is owned by OddJobzz and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our content without permission.

10. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

11. Disputes and Resolution

11.1 User Disputes

If a dispute arises between a Customer and Tasker:

• Contact our support team at support@oddjobzz.com
• Provide relevant details and documentation
• Our decisions regarding refunds and payments are final

11.2 Limitation of Liability

OddJobzz is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

• Quality or outcome of services performed
• Damages or injuries occurring during tasks
• Lost profits or indirect damages
• User content or conduct

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OddJobzz's total liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to the platform in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the total platform fees you paid to OddJobzz in that period, or (b) CAD $100.

12. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Receive repeated complaints
• Create safety or security concerns

You may close your account at any time through the app settings.

13. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of OddJobzz after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Saskatchewan, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Saskatchewan.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
